Time to buy Ammo

Earlier this year dang near everyone that makes ammunition had sent us unhappy letters. Basically the gist of them all is that ammunition across the board is going to be going up in price, on average about 15%.
The time to buy ammo is right now, before those price increases hit and that cost is reflected at retail. Oh, don’t be so smug, Reloaders… this effects all reloading components as well.
Why is it going up? Global demand on metals, the deflating value of the Dollar, and futures trading. But if you have to point fingers at anyone. Here you go. China. China is buying raw material like crazy.  That’s just a fact.  All these have an effect on what you are going to pay for a box of your favorite ammo.
Cheap ammo is now a thing of the past.

Because of this training classes this year will have lower round count requirements to help offset this cost.

ATI’s AK-47

I’ll update this post with a photo tomorrow. We got in a couple AK-47’s from ATI, the guys that have the really nice 1911’s. These AK’s are built on machined lowers, not stamped sheet metal. They are very solid and well made. The stocks look really good too. 549 for a milled AK, isn’t bad at all. If I had the money, I’d be all over these.

Crusader LEO .308 CETME Battle Rifle

The next Crusader LEO Project Rifle we are currently thinking about is a the CETME.  There are a lot of options out there for the CETME and they have a good reputation and a following.  And the CETME would gain huge benefits from the Slipstream ST-1 Process.   Options would be custom color, railed handguards and a collapsing stock.  This will be a very smooth, very reliable .308 battle rifle starting out for under a grand.  Even with the collapsing stock and railed guards, still very reasonable.   So for you guys that can’t afford a Broadsword or have an aversion to an AR Type weapon – This is the gun.  HK liked the so much, they took it and it became the G3.

What do you guys think?

Tom Selleck, good guy.

On Facebook, a “Friend” (who I don’t know from Adam) posted a link to a story about Tom Selleck.  The story’s headline is misleading.   Read the article and see if you come to the same conclusion that I did.  Tom reacted right.  He called the guy out on his poor gun safety.  Some clown picks up a gun, finger on the trigger, and starts pointing it at people… Tom sees it and promptly tells him to stop.  The clown probably regards Tom as a jerk and has his feelings hurt.  But that’s better than this clown claiming that “The Gun just went off” as he tries to explain to a grieving family how he killed their kid/dad/mom/etc.   Continue reading Tom Selleck, good guy.

Ogre Edition 1911?

I’ve been thinking about what a Crusader Ogre Edition 1911 would be.  I don’t have any photoshop skills, so I can’t do up a picture to show you.  But let me paint the picture for you in the mind. A stainless Dan Wesson V-Bob, a Commander length… with a blued carbon steel slide, and a muzzle treatment like a Nighthawk T3, and Straight 8 night sights.  Done.  Simple.  Oh, and it would be a 10mm.
