The Uprising Saga

Uprising USA.

Uprising UK.

Uprising Italia. By Zachary Hill.

For those bouncing here to MadOgre.com from hearing about it on the Radio, the books I’ve written about Zombies are in the Uprising Saga.  The USA book was the first.  It started out as a short story on an internet forum (WeTheArmed.com) and snowballed.  Many writers jumped in, adding their own perspective and making their own stories.
This is Literary Junk Food, not to be taken too seriously.  Just have fun with it.

I’m still beating my head on Uprising Russia.  Other writers are working on Uprising Crusader, Uprising Chosen, and then we’ll have an Uprising Anthology.

Horsemeat

horse-hamburgerThe UK is all a tissy over the use of horsemeat in processed foods.  And now it’s found in Ikea meatballs.  You would think people were being poisoned.  The truth is that our foods are so over processed that no one would have ever known had the news story not broken and not been run as headlines all over the place.  I’ve never eaten Ikea Meatballs, and now that I know they might have Horse in them… I want to try them now.  Horsemeat is good stuff.  Lean, low cholesterol, and all that… but more importantly… it’s Horse.

I hate horses.  Useless things.  They are expensive to own, and require a lot of care, attention, and food.  And what do they give you in return?  Mountains of shit.  They are nothing more than pretty-eyed shit pumps that make little girls all gooey inside.  Riding them?  Why?  You don’t control a horse, you don’t tell a horse what to do… You ask it.  They have minds all their own and can do things you don’t intend.  Then if you stop and get off it, the damn thing will wander away, or even run, and then you get to spend time trying to get it back.  An ATV or Bike does none of this, and they don’t fart and shit everywhere.  Sure, I’ve crashed bikes.  But I’ve also been thrown from a horse.  It threw me into a patch of cactus.  Then it came over and laughed at me.  My motorcycles have never laughed at me.  And any time I’ve crashed, the bike was hurt worse than I was.   Horses?  Hate the damn things.   Eating them and using them for industrial applications like Glue… I’m all for it.
Wild horses?  They are not a native species… the BLM round ups… I’m fine with.  Use them for Dog Food, Glue, Leather, I don’t care.  Grill them into Kabobs… Sure.  I’ll have some.   The only reason this is an issue is that too many girls wax fantasy and get misty eyes at the thought of ponies and horses with a devil horn sticking out of it’s head.
Don’t get me wrong… Sure, horses had a time and place in History.  So did Spears and Moats.  Now we have internal combustion and fuel injection and GPS.

A horse is just a prettier sack of meat than a cow is.

Teaching Teachers

003

Yesterday we had the Defensive Pistol course for Teachers Only.  This course was free to those Educators who wanted to learn  20 Teachers signed up.  The weather turned and it was snowing pretty hard, so I didn’t expect a major turn out, but 15 did.

This class worried me.  Rangermasters in Springville donated the range time, but could only donate 4 hours.  Half of their range on a Saturday, is a generous donation to the cause.   Over dinner at SHOT SHOW, I took some time with George Harris, former head of SIG’s Training Academy.  I asked him about how he would approach this course.   I have no problem seeking council from The Masters.   George Harris is a great guy and one of the best Firearms Educators in the business, so who better?  I had an idea in my head, and when Master Harris outlined how he would do this, I knew I was on the right track with my game plan.   He said, you can’t do it… You can’t teach them everything.   So you have to give them the mindset and then work on the basic fundamentals of handgun shooting.  And that is just what I did.

The class was a good mix, but mostly women, and most of them had very little shooting experience.  Some had never even touched a firearm before this day.  Knowing this before hand, I was nervous about this.  I’ve never had such a green class before.  Educators are generally from a very different background than my normal students.

Thanks to the guys that backed me up as Assistant Instructors, we had eyes on everyone.  They made this work.  Every student when they were shooting, had someone watching and coaching.  One on One for every shot.  Special thanks for Scott Peacock, Trent W Snyder, Zachary Hill, Joe Chetwood, Wes Dahl, and Steven Ting.

The course went very well.  The students learned a lot and the improvements we saw were amazing.  This class was a huge success.

Dear Armalite

Many Gun Owners emailed you with a serious concern.  You responded in a flippant and asinine manner that shows clear disdain for your main customer, the American Gun Owner.

Dear concerned gun owner,

First of all I would like to say thank you for filling my email with all this spam email.

Second, I am not sure where you got this blanket email from to send out as spam, but please stop it.

Third, The manufacturer is not the one you need to convince.

You need to convince the law enforcement agencies and the common people about their mistake in electing these officials and have them removed. Again NOT the manufacture.

AR Stands for ArmaLite…

Respectfully,

Pat Raley

Respectfully, Pat?  Really?  Well then… Allow me to retort.  With all the other AR Manufacturers out there, the American Gun Owner can fully and comfortably get by without giving you any business.  I’m sure New York will reward your loyalty by ordering enough Armalites to keep you in business, because  the rest of us want nothing to do with you if you don’t sort this out pronto.  With all due respect…

Some time after this email went out, the President of Armalite responded on Arfcom:

Thanks for posting this email. I just received a concerned telephone call about it, an email from the staffer who stimulated the mail.

I think a bit of clarification is in order.

The root of the matter is a HUGE series of inquiries by both email and telephone asking ArmaLite to cut off sales to New York and other states which deny its citizens the right to own our rifles, as several other firms have done. Some of the contacts have been duplicates of others and some were so redundant that they appeared to be spam. Many of them have been rude and I’m afraid one of my staffers thought that he was responding to a spammer and was more terse than he should have been. Once he realized what happened he came to me and apologized.

My purpose here is to pass on his apology from the corporate level and to answer the initial question: What is ArmaLite going to do?

ArmaLite is continuing a policy put into place when California first banned our rifles. That policy remains:

1. We will not sell to those states which deny it’s honorable citizens the right to own ArmaLite’s.

2. We do not halt sales to individual officers even in problematic states. I am a former Police Officer myself, and the staffer who stimulated the recent anger is a currently serving one. We are well familiar with the fact that most rifles serving Police Officers are purchased by the officers themselves, and that they shouldn’t be punished for the actions of their political elite.

We consider sales to those sate subdivisions which are not engaged or potentially engaged with disarming its citizens. DNR and Forestry Departments, for instance, sometimes serve in remote areas that conceal drug farms and their officers deserve good hardware.

3. We will not sell to those lower political subdivisions that deny their honorable citizens the right to own ArmaLite’s. Chicago, for instance, prohibits its citizens from owning ArmaLite’s within the city limits so we make no effort to sell into that city. We have many friends on the Chicago Police Department and have continued to sell to them individually.

Our observation is that most County Sheriffs disagree with banning sales of our rifles and many publicly refuse to enforce such laws. We sell to those departments and to their Deputies, but will not sell to those County departments headed by Sheriffs who would deny their citizens the same rights.

In short, Americans need not worry that ArmaLite is selling to those who betray them.

As you can see by reading posts on the topic, some readers have been harsh with their criticism of ArmaLite. It was in response to this atmosphere that my staffer reacted harshly. He’s come to me and apologized and I personally am passing my own apology along with his.

But don’t be mistaken, ArmaLite is strongly involved with both personal, corporate, and political efforts at the State, National, and International level to protect our civil rights. And we’ll continue to support your shooting needs as the situation moves forward.

Respectfully,

Mark Westrom
President,
ArmaLite Inc.

Okay, after reading Mark’s response a couple times, I’m glad that they didn’t “Recoil” the situation.  I’ll take his explanation at face value.

Pending Legislation in Utah

There are two key Bills pending with the Utah State Legislation right now.  Specifically HB114, and HB 76.

The first is the Second Amendment Preservation Act.
This bill declares that the regulation of firearms is reserved completely to the state and provides penalties for the prosecution of anyone attempting to enforce federal laws to the contrary.

What that means is Utah can stop and could prosecute any Federal Agent attempting to enforce an unconstitutional Federal Law.  This gives serious teeth to the letter the Utah Sheriff’s Association sent to Obama.   Basically the State is backing up it’s Sheriffs.  This is a very good thing.

The second is Concealed Weapon Carry Amendments.
This bill would give Utah “Constitutional Carry”.  Also known as Vermont Carry.  This means quite simply, if you are legal to have a gun, you can carry it concealed if you are over 21.  No Concealed Carry Permit required in the State of Utah.  Looking the bill over, you would of course still need a Permit if you cross State Lines.
What I’d like to see here is a line that says something to the effect that Utah would honor other Constitutional Carry States Citizens rights, if that state honors ours.  For Example if you are from AZ, you could come to UT and carry concealed if UT residents could do the same in AZ.  A Constitutional Handshake if you will.

What’s amazing about HB76 though is that it’s sponsored by John Mathis.  The guy I ran against for public office and destroyed in the debate in Moab.  (Not my opinion, that’s what I was told after the event by several residence of Moab)  John has been just about completely useless up until this point.  But him sponsoring this bill… I’m impressed.    Honestly, I’m shocked.  I was planning on running against him in the Republican Primaries next time… but really, if this passes, I wont have to.
Now, if he will just remove the law about it being illegal to fish from horseback…

Sick and Tired of hearing Democrats are not Anti-Gun

I’m sick and tired of hearing that Democrats are not Anti-Gun.  That’s such bullshit and I can’t tolerate it anymore.   There are individual Democrats that are Gun Owners, yes.  Some even own Glocks and AR-15’s.  That’s fine.  But as a whole, the Democrat Party is blatantly Anti-Gun and Anti-American.  Forget such adjectives as “Liberal” or “Progressive”, the Party as a whole is disgustingly Anti-Freedom.

Just today, here are two headlines.

Missouri Democrats

Wisconsin Democrats

Forget the rule of law, the Constitution… Rational Thought…

The Pattern

I’ve said this on about 9 different radio stations now.

“If there is any pattern to these mass shootings it’s that they were done by Liberals.”

The longer version is “If you are looking for a pattern in all of these shooting sprees, it’s not the Gun. The one similarity they all have is that they were Liberals. Maybe that question should be on the ATF Form 4473. Because Liberals with Guns is pretty much a bad thing.”

I think this is a good message to get out.  It could force some people to look in another direction when it comes to the gun control argument .   We don’t need Gun Control, we need Liberal Control.

If we take a look at what the Leading Liberals have been saying…  Take a Look.

Already the Left is doing damage control because they know its true.

Gun Owners are not dangerous.  Liberals Are.  All these mass shooters, maniacs, psychos… Liberals.
The Left will counter that OK City was done by a Conservative Right Wing Wacko.  True.  But he didn’t use a Gun, did he?  Fertilizer and Diesel Fuel.  9-11 was done with Box Cutters too, that arguement proves our point that EVIL doesn’t need a Gun.  In China two incidents happened at schools, one a man with a knife and the other a man in a Car.  Evil is not defeated by disarming and making yourselves better victims.  Evil is defeated – by Defeating It.  Standing up and fighting it.  All of these mass shootings ended when the Evil was confronted by Strength.  That’s when it stopped.

Am I saying that Liberalism is Evil?  I’ll leave that up to you to decide.

What’s going on…

Okay, earlier this week my Publisher hired a Publicist for me. This is a good thing and will eventually lead to increased book sales and untold wealth whereby I can by my secret lair under a volcanic island.
After not hearing anything for a day, all the Publicist has been busy.  I’m lined out on Radio Interviews.

Today, I’ve just done a few, but tomorrow will be rather heavy.  The topic at hand is the Chris Dorner case in California.  This case is a big snarly one that needs to be examined carefully.  Not just about how and why Chris Dorner snapped, but also the LAPD’s response and how they pursued him.

The case is interesting on several fronts, but only until you read the Manifesto does it become clear that this wasn’t just a man with grievances  but a man that was smart, educated, and he just went completely nuts.  In one part, he details his grievances very clearly.  In another he pretty much declares war on the LAPD.  And then another he gives Shout Outs to Celebrities… His letter has great detail on some things, but then tracts off course into wild tangents.  What it is, is he was saying goodbye to the world.  He had no intention of being taken alive.

Regardless of how freaked out the LAPD was, it did not justify some of their actions.  Lighting up trucks that looked like Dorner’s for example.  Target Identification anyone?
