Here’s what’s going on. Last Tuesday I got a twinge of pain in my left knee. Wednesday morning, that knee was swollen and causing me huge amounts of acute pain. It’s only gotten worse. This morning I went to see the Saw Bones and he had a battery of tests done and x-rays. He drained a lot of fluid from the knee and injected Cortisone into it… a lot of Cortisone. I don’t think I’ll need surgery again. He also gave me a script for some serious pain meds. Right now I am without pain. That’s a beautiful thing.

Tom Selleck, good guy.
On Facebook, a “Friend” (who I don’t know from Adam) posted a link to a story about Tom Selleck. The story’s headline is misleading. Read the article and see if you come to the same conclusion that I did. Tom reacted right. He called the guy out on his poor gun safety. Some clown picks up a gun, finger on the trigger, and starts pointing it at people… Tom sees it and promptly tells him to stop. The clown probably regards Tom as a jerk and has his feelings hurt. But that’s better than this clown claiming that “The Gun just went off” as he tries to explain to a grieving family how he killed their kid/dad/mom/etc. Continue reading Tom Selleck, good guy.

Mil-Spec = Quality?
By Daniel Shaw
Anyone who has perused popular firearms related forums has likely encountered the dreaded gun snob who seemed to know it all. A list of his or her personally approved Mil-Spec AR 15 manufacturers was likely produced at some point during the encounter. If your AR doesnt happen to be from one of those listed companies – you are ill prepared and will likely die as a result of your “jammomatic” not operating properly. In most cases, the list provided includes very reputable companies that do in fact produce high quality ARs. Does that mean they are the only companies that make quality guns of that genre? I think not. Continue reading Milspec = Quality? Guest Post by Daniel Shaw
The Pot calling the Kettle black…
This is almost like something written by The Onion. Read This, and try to keep a straight face. Microsoft pointing the finger at Google? Hilarious.

250 bucks and The Bomber (my old Chevy… because it sounds just like a B-24 Bomber) is ready for another trip over Berlin. Or into Town. What really hurt was the 80 bucks to fill the tank.
Adding a new Blog to the Roll…
I forgot to add our friend Jim’s blog to the Big Fat Blogroll. Gas and Lead. Bookmark it! Jim is talking about some cool guns, and he’s got a couple cool new guns coming… so check in on them.
Ogre’s Top 5 Villainesses
There are not a whole lot of hot Villainesses in Sci-Fi and Fantasy. These are my Top Five Favorites. Each one is an evil bea-otch that uses her womanhood to ruin men or are just plain evil-crazy and reminds me of someone I used to know. Descending Order:
Old School Security
Thank you to Retired Officer Eric for the cool old school Army holster. I was wanting just such a rig for riding in the mountains. Looking at the gear inspired me to take a photo.
Does anyone have an Plates for the vest? I still need the plates.
Utah is Gun Land?
In a prime example of shlock reporting, KSL News has managed to screw up a simple story. They talked to a 3 people in putting this story together. 1. Another KSL Reporter. 2. Some dude from back east. 3. An Anti-Gun Reporter named Gunn. They didn’t talk to anyone else in Utah… like Utah Gun Owners. They could have gone to any of the Dealers in Utah, talked to some Utah Instructors… But they didn’t. It’s as if they wanted to keep distance from the topic as much as possible. The other thing that bugs me… KSL has called Utah, “Gun Land“. This is a tag I’ve never heard. So I did a search and the only reference to Gun Land, other than the Deseret News bit that was mentioned, was another article… this time from the SLC Tribune Blog, in an Opinion Piece.
