ID Issues Resolved

Wife went back.  Simply talked to a different person than she did last time.  This person was most helpful and my Beloved Bride had no problem getting what she needed done and having the card corrected and issued.

Evidently it is well known that the other “Lady” at the other window is a colossal asshole.

Update:  She is now officially a resident of North Carolina.  Legal to drive again… Also at the same time, my Twins are now have their Learner’s Permits.   This explains why all three are suspiciously absent and are not answering calls.  Fly, my free birds, fly!

My wife’s Driver’s License expired.  So she goes to the DMV to get a new NC card.

But she can’t.  Because she needs a Marriage Certificate to show she’s married to me… from 21 years ago never before required.  Fine.  We contact the state of Utah and get it.

She goes in again.   No, she still can’t.  Now she has to have a social security card with the name changed on it… again, never required before in 21 years of marriage.  With moving to Idaho and Virginia and back to Utah… Required now.

So we go to the social security office in New Bern.  They shut the door on us… office closed.

So she goes back again to change her name.   But she can’t.   Because her Utah license is expired.  Birth Certificates and Marriage Licenses and all that doesn’t matter.   “If you contact the hospital and have the lady at the counter sign it in ink and then…”  How is that a more valid form of ID than a Utah Drivers License that went past an arbitrary date?  She is no longer the same person she was a month before?  What the hell, People?

She’s in a NO WIN situation because of the goddamn government.    She is now expected to fly all the way back out to Utah, renew her Driver’s License there, so she can fly back here, just so she can get a North Carolina license.   She called me from the social security office in tears from the frustration.  I’m so angry I could chew nails and spit tacks.   This is ridiculous.  Even more so because an illegal immigrant gets treated better… pisses me slam off.

UPDATE:   Oh get this… Now we’ve been told that she can get a Doctor’s form… with DOB on it, signed in ink… Which is laughable because you don’t need an ID to see a Doctor.  OR you can have your church print out something that has your name and DOB on it, and a Church Official signs it. In ink of course, and that’s valid.   Again, laughable.  Because they don’t know who in the hell the Doctor is or the Church Official.   And you don’t need an ID to go to Church (yet) so how is that a valid anything?   Yet that is more valid than a DL, which required everything in the first place that had only just recently expired.

Even more laughable… All of these other documents can be created at home with a computer and some photoshop.   It worked for Obama!  But what you couldn’t just recreate though is a Utah Driver’s License.   I could in fact, legally, start my own “Church” and then generate this document and sign it and stamp it and it would be LEGAL.

All this to get a Social Security Card to be used as ID… When it freaking says on the card “NOT FOR USE AS ID“.

WTF is WRONG with this picture?   EVERYTHING.  This is all such utter bullshit.  So instead of helping the person trying to comply with the law… the system is forcing people to find the loopholes to get around the law.   This is insanity.

Richard Dryfuss on Guns

Certainly a surprising Pro-Gun attitude from Richard Dreyfuss.
However the Shall Not Be Infringed, while shockingly clear, is misunderstood by Mr. Dreyfuss. Voting is a Right. Free Speech is a Right. Gun Owning and Bearing is a Right. Driving a Car, however, is a Privilege. There is a difference. Because The State has the right to determine who can operate a Motor Vehicle on public roads. Applying the same model to Guns means that Guns become a Privilege.
Also, he seems to think that SOME guns are okay… while OTHERS are Bad and should be locked up and controlled by someone other than the Owner. This is where things fall apart and shows that Mr. Dreyfuss has a way to go in understanding the very reasons for the Second Amendment.
Also, the Second Amendment is not written poorly, or vaguely. It is very clear. It’s just allowed to be argued because it’s rude to call someone ignorant of their own language. Let me break it down into a common interpretation for those in Portland Oregon. The Second Amendment says:
“Because we have to have a well regulated Militia, the right to keep and bear guns shall not be infringed.”
Because the people just had a war against a well regulated militia. It’s those Militias that are the worry… The spear point of a Government. The people need guns to keep the Militia and the Government in Check. Notice how the Second Amendment mentions Militia, but doesn’t mention Self Defense or Sport or Hunting? Because those things are a Given. Taken for Granted like growing vegetables and chopping wood to get ready for winter… Everyone did that because that was the way of life.
And regardless of the interpretation because of bad English skills… the last sentence is absolutely very clear. SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. It’s not “Shall be Debated.” “Shall be Regulated.” SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. Period.

Jeremy Clarkson is right.

Some years ago Jeremy Clarkson said upon returning home to the UK from a trip to the US, that he was glad to be back in a free country.
This statement of course, pissed me slam off.  How dare that pompous imperial claim that the ultimate nanny state of the UK, was a country with more freedom and liberty than the great US of A.  That arrogant unmitigated asshat.  That jowly overstuffed, jean wearing, Corvette Driving, cowboy boot strutting, clown of a man… would be proved right by our own Government.

Here we are, years later.  Our Government has attempted a take over of the Auto Industry.  Has taken over 1/6th of our Nations Economy and has told us to buy their Insurance or Else.  Our phones and emails and all other forms of communications are recorded for use against us.  Drones are in the skies above us.  Our Police Officers are pointing guns at us.  Our Military is told that we are the bad guys, those of us who go to church on Sunday and might read the Drudge Report.  We are the problem, and more Government is the solution.

And Jeremy Clarkson is right.
Damn that man.

I was comfortable being smug knowing that he was wrong and that he had to cope with security cameras at every corner and “Health and Safety” was always looking out for him.   But he’s only Monitored when he steps out of his front door, or gets behind the wheel of some car with more than 10 cylinders.   In the UK, the Ministries really don’t care what he does unless he breaks a law.  And now I sit back and wait for the CIA and the NSA to message me that I made a typo here and that they agree with me.   Because I know now that here in the USA, freedom is only an expensive illusion.  We are the problem, more Government is the solution.  (Homeland Security just let me know I dropped a letter “Y” on “they”)

I however believe that the Government is the problem and that we are the solution.  Unfortunately no one is going to throw the switch.

There are only three people in DC that are worth a damn.
Ted Cruze, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul.
Everyone else is completely useless and dangerous. And what’s worse is that the GOP is flat out against them.
Working with the Democrats means giving in to them.  Look at our Nation.  How’s that worked out for us?
The argument is that if we dont, we lose elections.  Whats the point if we give in regardless?   You know why we lose elections?  Two reasons.
One:  Open Caucuses.   We let anyone come in and vote for the Republican candidate… this lets the Donks pick our Candidate.   Thats how we got McCain as our Candidate which is why we have Obama now.
Two:  Voter ID.  You gotta have an ID for everything these days;  except to Vote.  Some states require it.  Others don’t.   The Donks always sweep No ID states.  This is the precursor to Voter Fraud.  If an ID was required, that would be a huge step to having an actual valid election.
If we fix these two issues, the political landscape would be set straight in short order.  We wont even get into Term Limits and Congressional Salary and Pensions.  Perhaps a Congressman should only recieve a stipend for living expenses and sit in office for no more than 4 years and have no pension.   Live like Monks instead of Rock Stars.  Learn what the hell Public Servant means.
Perhaps if serving in DC was a sacrifice than people like McCain and Pelosi and Reed wouldn’t be there… but more people like Mike Lee would hold Offices.  People who believe in our Nation and would not use it for graft.  And any accusation of wrong doing that’s proven true, be subject to instant Recall.  If this was how it was in DC, our Nation would truly be the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.

Sopranos Health Care

tony-sopranoIt started out as Free Health Care.  That whipped the unwashed, low information masses into a frenzy.  Got a lot of people in on this idea. Garnered a lot of support.  Then they changed it bit by bit.  “You can keep your old plan.”  And “You can keep your same Doctor.”  While never telling anyone that in fact, no, it’s not free.

Then it turned into something else… Like something out of the Sopranos.  It’s more like, “So, you’re gunna buy this health care policy.  You have until the end of the year.  Or else.”

Unless your part of The Family.  Then you get exemptions. It’s universal for everyone else.

This is like a Mafia style Protection Racket.  It’s not lowering the cost of anything.  In fact, for most everyone, it’s more expensive.  A lot more expensive.

I fully expect to hear Joe Biden come out and say “That’s a nice Health Care Plan you have there… I’d hate to see anything happen to it.”

Revolution or Civil War?

There is a difference between a Revolution and a Civil War in America. And I’ve heard a lot of Civil War talk being thrown out. Civil War is something that we absolutely do not want. It’s the ugliest of conflicts on ever level. However a Revolution is something that can actually have a positive outcome if done correctly.

Let’s look at a couple Revolutions that were deemed a success… The American Revolution and the French Revolution.

The French Revolution, was successful in it’s goal, was an absolute disaster for the country. The public beheadings was a horror show that should never be repeated in a civilized nation. They decapitated those that knew how to take care of institutions and infrastructure that basically set France back when they should have been stepping forward.

The American Revolution, is a good example of how to conduct as clean and efficient of a revolution as possible. When the political ties were broken, the replacements were already in place or planned. And time was taken to properly establish the new Government. This was not without resistance, and conflict quickly arose. In fact, the conflict had already started before a Revolution was declared. The famous “Shot heard round the World” was the unofficial start of it, and after that, it was debated weather or not it was a revolution or “An Isolated Incident”.

Right now, millions of people are waiting for another Shot heard round the World. The tension is in the air. The lines are drawn. However some people have not picked which side of those lines they are on.

Consider his is an Open Letter to all members of the Military and Federal Law Enforcement at every level.

What we are seeing is blatant tyranny by the Federal Government over The People. One National Park Service Officer said that he found the orders to be “Disgusting”. I agree. But I also found it to be even more disgusting that while this man knew what he was doing was wrong, that his orders were wrong, that he carried them out regardless. That is disgusting. Shameful.

You are serving as the tools of Tyranny. Never before has our nations very symbols of freedom been closed to the public. Never before has the government sought to hurt the American People so directly. The Lincoln Memorial is but a symbol. So is our Nation’s Flag. The Flag sewn to the shoulders of your uniforms, the flag that you salute, and the flat that you pledged your allegiance to… What does it mean to you? Anything at all anymore? Or is it just a source of your Pay Check while you say to yourself, “better them than I”?
Throw down the Barricades at the National Monuments. Refuse to follow these outrageous orders. Let The People enter the Capitol and let their grievances be heard.

Remember your Oaths.

They keep using that word.  I do not think it means what they think it means.

The Government is Shut Down.  The biggest problem that I have with this is that they will eventually Re-Open.  And that’s regrettable, however inevitable.  Many things have shut down.  Parks and Panda-Cams.  Monuments and Mountains.  Everything that they deem as Non-Essential.  Essential things are of course still working.  Soldier’s are still getting paid, and other things too important to stop.  That’s fine.  But this gives us an opportunity.  We now have a Water Line for Government Services.

I submit that everything that is Shut Down should be examined.  Is it really something that serves a valuable and necessary function or service?  If not, and no one is really missing it, then why have it at all?  And is this something that should be apart of the Federal Government?
Or should it be rolled back to a State Government?
Or should it be Privatized?

The Panda-Cam at the National Zoo.  Privatize that Zoo.  Privatize the Department of Education?  No… That should be on the shoulders of the States.  Grand Canyon?  State.  Dinosaur National Monument?  States? Colorado and Utah working together?  That’s not going to happen… they can’t even join Highway 40 together right – PRIVATIZE that shit.
I’m of the opinion that anything the Government can’t do better – should be done Privately.  I’m also of the opinion that everything that is Not Essential – Should be Privatized.   If it couldn’t be sustain through a Private firm’s management, then contract Halliburton or something to operate it.   Freaking Girls Scouts can run a business better than The Feds.
Just look at the SNAFU that is Obamacare on the first day of operation.  The Feds should stay out of it.  We’ll all be riding horses if they get their tentacles into Auto Insurance as they have Health Insurance.  (No need to mention how they have fucked up Flood Insurance too)
