Crazy Gun Sales

I’ve never seen gun-sales like today. It’s been busy since Black Friday, and really busy all week. But I’ve never seen it like today. We broke records. We completely sold out of all AR rifles. They are gone. Done.
We have more on order, but I don’t think we will ever have the AR stockpile like we had before… They are going to trickle in and be sold before they hit the shelves.
All of our 5.56mm/.223 ammo in 50 round packs or larger is all gone as well.
I still have .223 Remington in 20 round boxes… your Varmageddon, V-Max and Ballistic Silvertips, and that’s it.
I’ve never seen anything like this.

Edit:  To give you guys an idea of the volume I’m talking about… When it comes to inventory, Basin Sports is one of the biggest new gun dealers not just in the state of Utah, but in the western states.  We had one hell of an inventory of tactical rifles.  Yeah… they are all gone now.

The Ogre Sandwich

Make a classic Philly Cheesesteak.
Stuff in yellow banana peppers, olives, and mushrooms.
Throw on some bacon.  None of that Canadian shit.
Dredge that in beer-batter made with Amber Boch, or Shock Top.
Deep fry till GBD.
Serve with a Gatorbull to wash it down.

Genius Level Grub.

Cheap Dicks

Dick’s Sporting Goods is pulling semi auto rifle sales.
Cheaper Than Dirt is suspending online gun sales, and have increased their prices to stupid levels.  A P-Mag is now $59.99.  Those price-gouging bastards!

I encourage everyone to give a big middle finger to Dick’s and CTD.

Random pics of me with my favorite rifles.

This is “The Green Marlin” which became the Cowboy Assault Rifle, or CAR-30-30, or Tactical Lever Action.  It started out as a stock Marlin 336C which had some serious water damage to the stock that ruined the finish.  I was going to do a John Deer logo on the side of it, but then I decided I hated that color.  The gun its self though was straight up awesome.  Barrel cut down to 16 on the dot, and an 11 Degree Target Crown and a 1 Piece firing pin and the Trigger Happy trigger from Wild West Guns.  The result was a 30-30 that would print 1/2″ groups with LEVERevolution ammo.

This is what replaced my Crusader Modified Rock River… which no matter how good or accurate it was, it was too damned heavy.  This is a very lightweight build that Gundoc tweaked for me.  Slipstream treatment and a Battlecomp round out the details.  Topped with an EOTech, to get on target fast.  Accuracy is more than enough to make me laugh wickedly.  Yeah, I’m not giving anything up on the Rock River’s accuracy.

Now, I’m holding a Rossi M92 in .44 Mag.  And I do love the 92’s, the gun in the photo that brings this to the front of the pack, is the one Evil Jim is caressing.  That’s his SBL.  This is the .45-70 Thumper that forced me – FORCED ME – to buy a Guide Gun of my own.  I don’t have a pic of me holding mine, so this one will do.

Notice that out of all these rifles in this post – most are Lever Actions.  There’s a good reason for that.  I love Lever Action Rifles.  Especially one’s with some modern touches that enhance the Lever’s ability to hit – and knock the shit out of the target.
It was asked, “What is Crusader going to do if there is another Assault Weapons Ban and you can’t build AR’s anymore?”  What will we do?  We’ll do custom Lever Actions.  I’m one of the few Trainers out there that actively train  – an encourage – Lever Actions.

Crusader Training: Free for Teachers

Crusader Weaponry is heart broken over the tragic event in CT. Since the news broke, I’ve felt sick to my stomach over this, and have no been able to keep very much food down. Such a tragedy makes one evaluate a great many things. We wish there was something that we could do to help… but there is nothing that we could ever do that would bring back the lives of those slain by this insane inhuman monster.
The best we can do is to help minimize such events in the future.
Joe and I talked about this and made a commitment.
Any Teacher or School Administration with a CCW Permit can come to any of our Defensive Handgun courses free of charge. This is a $200 donation per head to the safety of our Children. If a School District so desires, Crusader will hold a special course for them, and if Travel is required, we only ask for enough to cover the cost of the travel.
We wish we could do more.
But we are committed to our believe that we need an Active Defense Measure in our Schools. We need our schools and other institutions to have people on staff at all times that are Trained and Armed and always vigilant. We can not Educate our Children if we can not Protect our Children.

Getting Caught Up.

When it comes to AR’s, don’t get caught up in the little things.  It’s not about what you have on or in your AR.  It’s about what you can do with it.
Imagine a simple tool belt, much like what any Handi-Man might have.  A Hammer, Screw Drivers, a Saw, a Measuring Tape and a Pencil.  It doesn’t matter what company these tools came from.  You give them to a skilled man, he can build you whatever you need.  A Shed, a Dog House… a set of cabinets. Fix a shelf.  He will get the job done.
Give that same tool belt to one with no skills, and you will be lucky to get a Bird House out of him.  He is not competent enough to take on the big projects.  The quality of the tools, the perfection of the craftsmanship is lost on him.  Even if he payed high dollars for the very best tools available.

What’s important about the Tools themselves… and we all get caught up in the tools… is that they work. You can argue Craftsman, Snap-On, or Stanley… The Contractor’s Client doesn’t care a bit about that.  His concern is only the results.

When you seek to dress out your AR, make sure you are not just dressing it up.  Putting on Bling for looks or to impress your friends is meaningless.  Instead only worry about what you really need to get the job done.  To know what you really need, you need to use some thought.  Not just looking through a catalog or browsing the shelves at your LGS.  Buy what’s going to help you use the tool.  The AR-15 is just that, the simple tool.  You can enhance it with some upgrades.  Grips that allow your hand to fit better for better control… Stocks that fit you better… Optics that allow you to line up your target faster and more precisely.

Guys, don’t ask me what you need.  Ask yourself.  Go to the range, shoot and move, take a Tactical Carbine Course and see for yourself what it is that you need for you and your gun.
