Confederate States

A lot of people are getting excited about this Secession Movement that has become popular.  There are Petitions for State Secession from every state now… with Texas of course leading the charge.
To withdraw a State from the Union has never happened before – successfully.  You guys may remember the Civil War.  It didn’t end well for The South.
While a new Civil War may be likely… or at least more likely than ever before.  This is not a good thing to hope for.  This is not a thing that we want to happen.  Bloodshed on an industrial scale is something that should be avoided at all costs.
But what about the fun little thing of just “Sending a Message” to Washington DC?
Ever heard of the No Fly List?
Now take a look at the ATF Form 4473.  One of the questions is regarding Renouncing of Citizenship.  It would be very easy for the ATF to get these Petitions and use them to create a NO BUY List.  Use sign that Petition and all the sudden you find one day that you are on a NO BUY List.  You can’t get your name off that list, you can’t even check if you are on it to begin with… no one can see that list.  But your State’s BCI will have it and when you run a Gun Check… Bang.  There it is.  You can’t buy a gun because you are on The List.  Sorry, nothing you can do about it.  Just like when you try to Fly… Sorry, I know you already purchased that ticket and it’s not refundable… but you can’t get on the plane.  Sorry, Policy.   And at that point, there is nothing you can say or do that will get you on that plane.   Or in the case of trying to buy that gun, nothing you say or do will allow the Dealer to be able to sell you that gun if BCI says no.
You know why this is Possible?  Because I’d do it if I was an asshole like everyone in the Obama Administration.
If I wanted to effect Gun Control on those people who want FREEDOM and disrupt the Gun Industry as much as possible… I’d make that No Buy List.  And those people have all already Signed Up for it.

Look at what it would do to the Industry.  If you are not legal to buy a gun, you can’t work in the gun industry… Not where there are firearms around.  We’ve had to let an Employee go because he was not legal to buy a gun.  According to the ATF, he couldn’t work with us anymore.  Not even in shipping and receiving.  Certainly not in Sales.  Not even stocking ammo.  A No Buy List would gut many gun companies… Especially if you were in a State that, such as Texas, made enough noise to really irritate DC and they wanted some Pay Back.
Now say the State does leave the Union.  Now you will have to have a Passport to go visit to or from.  You want a Springfield and you live in Texas, now you have to Import it.  Everything become more expensive and complicated.   And what about just Ammo?
It sounds all good, but when you think about it… it’s really NOT a good thing.  Not unless multiple states in a large district are all able to withdraw peacefully – which is not likely at all.
But let’s just say that Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana all withdraw.  Say we have that chunk of a new Confederate State of America.
It would be very tempting to move there.  Even though I swore my Oath to the United State of America… and that Oath never Expires until I do… It would be a painful, hard choice.  But still tempting.   Because I could see myself going to Arizona.  I’ve lived in Texas before as well.  It would be tempting.
But I am not ever signing any such petition.  Ever.  Not with this Administration.    Not when Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Obama have access to such a list.   There is just too much room for Evil to be had there.

Seriously Fugly

The Springfield XD pistols.  Just horrid looking.  Oh, they are indeed good guns… but the are hard to look at.  The M’s are better looking, but not by a huge amount.  Like the West Virginian Cousin of an Okie.
Springfield really needs to just drop the XD line and lower the price of the XDM’s.  The M is all around the better pistol in every caliber and size.

Veterans Day

Almost every year I post this.   I wrote it some years ago when Bush was the President.  When I had a bit more pride in our Nation than I’m feeling now.  But the message is the same.  “Thank you”.

Veterans Day: Just a word to you cake eating civilians out there… You don’t say Happy Veterans Day. You don’t say Merry Vets Day. But just because you don’t have a meaningless Seasons Greetings for it doesn’t mean you don’t say anything.

This isn’t some fat bunny in a sled passing around Jack O’Lanterns because it’s Santa’s birthday… This isn’t about some old fable-become-tradition.

Veterans Day is a day for those that are still alive, and for those who are dead… those who died for your freedom to flip soldiers the bird and to call them baby killers and spit on them in the airport.

Veterans Day is for the guys that died fighting for your personal independent liberty…

It’s for that Veteran that walks with just a slight limp and seems otherwise fine, but he doesn’t have a spleen because an enemy of our country blew it out his back with an AK-47 so you can get 15% Off that new leather fat-ass reclining couch that your going to sit on to mock the President from while watching your 42 inch plasma TV flipping through the channels trying to find some Friends rerun.

Veterans Day is for the guy that came home while all his friends didn’t.

Veterans day is for the woman who gave up the best years of her young adulthood so she could press her hands over the sucking chest wound of some guy from her own home town 6 thousand miles away from home.

Veterans day is for that old woman over there that raised 2 kids alone because when she was young she sent her handsome young husband off to fight for your freedom and came back as a flag folded into a triangle.

That’s what Veterans day is for… and what do you say to those people who served?

You just say “Thank You”.

Invalid

There are so many reports of election irregularities and suspicious occurrences… I do not believe this Election is valid.
I call Shenanigans.

Every election has such reports… but this time there are reports of possible foul play across the country.  140% turn out in some places, an they just happen to have 99% votes for Obama?  Where the hell are we?  Cuba?

I’m not the only one to think this way.

Here are some facts to consider:

  • The Obama campaign accepted at least some foreign campaign cash – willingly and knowingly. The campaign website could have prohibited it. It did not. In other words, it deliberately left open the door for illegal foreign contributions in its “by any means necessary” quest for re-election. WND has proven that by actually contributing under the name Osama bin Laden from a Pakistani IP address, with a phony physical address and other neon-lit red flags in hopes of catching attention. Obamaaccepted illegal foreign contributions in 2008 without penalty, so why would anyone expect him not to repeat his crime in 2012? No one can know the extent of the fraud, because Obama has refused to release the identity of donors of $200 or less – yet he boasts that most of the money he collected was in small amounts.
  • James O’Keefe and Project Veritas spent months heroically proving the absolute willingness and eagerness of Democratic operatives to commit voter fraud – especially by having people cast multiple votes.
  • Military ballots were systematically denied active-duty servicemen and women around the world. This would be a scandal if it happened once. But it has become the norm when Democrats are in charge of the Defense Department. It would be a scandal if it were due to incompetence. But it appears to be a deliberate effort to suppress the military vote. It would be a scandal if it were not a close election. But it was.
  • Prior to the election, Democrats fought for open voting requiring no identification – particularly photo ID. Coincidentally, Obama won every state that didn’t fully require photo ID to vote.Democrats contended that voter ID laws suppress the vote. But they do not. They only suppress theillegal vote.
  • Across Philadelphia, GOP poll inspectors were forcibly (and illegally) removed from polling locations. Coincidentally (or not), Obama received “astronomical” numbers in those very same regions, including locations where he received “over 99 percent” of the vote. Ward 4, which also had a poll watcher dressed in Obama attire, went massively for Obama. Obama received 99.5 percent of the vote, defeating Romney 9,955 to 55.
  • Obama also won 99.8 percent of the vote in 44 Cleveland districts. In another Ohio county, Obama won with 108 percent of the voters registered.
  • Obama received 10 million fewer votes than he did in 2008. Romney received 3 million fewer votes than McCain. Obama won in the four critical swing states by a grand total of 500,000 votes.
  • Some 5 million independents changed their votes from Obama to Romney in 2012. So Romney started the day 2.5 million votes ahead of where McCain was in 2008, as Jack Wheeler points out. This means that 5.5 million Republican voters are not accounted for. Either they didn’t show up at the polls or their votes were not counted. Does anyone believe there was less enthusiasm by Republicans about this election than for the one in 2008?

I find this very interesting… even more so are the people who are just blowing this off.  Of course, there is really nothing we can do about this.  I mean, we’ve got a president who is invalid from the start winning a stolen election… what can we do?  The System is doing everything it can to keep him there and no one cares if it’s completely transparent.  Don’t pay attention to it.  Instead, here’s our Sacrificial General!  He had an affair with a Hotty Librarian Chick!  He’s BAAAAAD!!!  Everyone point fingers at the Naughty General!

This reminds me of The Wizard’s First Rule:  “People will believe a Lie if they want it to be true, or if they are afraid it might be true.”

Take a look at this.  They called the election the night of the voting, but not all the ballots have been counted.   That’s enough ballots to change the close race in Ohio.  That’s just one state.  Look at this.  In another close race, they just “Found” another 900+ ballots in a Warehouse…
These guys have handled the Election with less professionalism than a pack of Girl Scouts selling Cookies.   They’ve completely fucked up the whole mess.
And where are the Military Votes?  I’ve word from several of our Soldiers that they still have not received their Absentee Ballots.

COUNT EVERY LEGITIMATE VOTE!

An interesting Stock

You gotta be careful with all the aftermarket crap out there. A Safe bet is MagPul, their stuff is always pretty dang good. One company that I think is really Hit or Miss, is Mako. These are the cats bringing in stuff from FAB Defense… Israeli made stuff. None of it’s bad, it’s just that I don’t really care for a lot of it, but they do make some stuff that I really like. Such as some of their Vertical Foregrips. I also like the fact that they put a Rubber pad on their stocks. Not they AR weapons need a rubber recoil pad, but that it keeps the gun from slipping on the shoulder, or when your just trying to stand it up against something. Non-Slip has it’s advantages. Well, the other day we got in some of these new GL-MAG stocks. I put a couple of them on some Combo AR’s I put together and several of us tried it out. The concept is simple… The stock holds a spare mag. It comes with a nice little 10 round mag, but I’d rather keep a 20 rounder in there of a more reliable make… but there it is. A second mag well to keep some emergency rounds at hand.

Gotta love Double Tapper. Great guy. I like how he demonstrates the mag changes. But notice how the 10 round mag about disappears in that grip funnel on his mag well? This is a case where the 20 rounder would be ideal.
It seems to be a good solid M4 stock alternative and retails for about 110 bucks. I like it. It’s more functional that the Magpul stocks, that’s for sure.

Critical Duty vs PDX1. Fight!

I’m a big fan of both. Hornady ammunition is solid, reliable, and accurate. Their Critical Defense line of ammo is very good. Very clever. Putting a rubber plug in the cavity of a hollowpoint to insure expansion without the need for they hydrostatic pressure to force expansion. Brilliant. And the Critical Duty like is a tougher bullet, loaded hotter. I’m impressed with the 135 grain 9mm CD load so much so that I may adopt it for use here at Ogre Ranch and for my personal carry gun (this month being the Beretta 92FS) and for the carry load for my Son’s pistol, an M&P.
But is the new Critical Duty better for serious use than the Winchester PDX1 loads? Winchester did a great deal of engineering to get these loads just right, and they built off the long years of experience for making the most effective duty loads you could get for the last 20 years. I am an unabashed PDX1 fan. I was a fan of the Black Talons and the Ranger T loads. In fact, I still have Black Talons standing by. The PDX1 takes that reverse tapered jacket approach and now gives us the Bonding improvement that made loads such as the Gold Dots so popular.
I’m not sure… but I am thinking that I will keep the PDX1’s for all my guns, save for the 9mm’s and roll with Critical Duty loads for those. Actual testing will have to be done though before I make any changes.

No Glock November

It started as a challenge. A gauntlet thrown. No Glocks for the Month of November, just Beretta, and specifically, just the Beretta 92FS, which I just happen to have.  I can’t give the details, or any better explanation… but I have my reasons.

I came into the Beretta 92FS which was owned by my Brother, which was owned by my Friend, which was owned by evidently a Cop according to Beretta.  But all that is not important.  The important bit is the challenge its self.  The fact that the Beretta is “Too Big” and “Too Heavy” and it has the Safety in the wrong place and it’s just wrong to Carry and that you can’t do it.  Well, yeah, I can, and I am.  In fact, it’s mostly Open Carried when not at work, which is no big thing out here in my part of the world.  Lots of guys Open Carry around here.  And since the Election, the numbers of Open Carry that I’ve seen has gone through the roof.

Back to the Beretta.  I got it well used.  Thanks to another friend at Beretta, I’ve changed the locking block, springs, and the grips back to OEM.  This required the grinding of the Grip Screws as they were too long and locked the magazine in tight like it was bolted in… because it was.  So I had to shorten them.  This took all of 4 Minutes.  The thicker rubber grips were just a touch too thick for my hands. With the OEM’s back on, I like it much better.  Fits my hand and points better for me.  I am digging the gun.  It’s a good 92, and according to Beretta it’s a Law Enforcement gun that came from the factory with Night Sights.

So now that everything is ready for duty, I’m going to pack nothing but this Beretta for the rest of the month.  No 23’s, no 22’s, no 17’s… Not even an M&P, and no 1911’s. Just Beretta, and just this 92FS.
All carry and all pistol shooting is Beretta.  This is going to be a challenge because I am so used to the Glocks.  My G23 in my Adams Holsters Sharkhide rig has been a part of me.  I am no stranger to the 92.  I had one before, years ago.  I sold it and got a CZ-97B, and that turned into another gun that I don’t remember… Springfield maybe.  Yeah, that’s what it was.  But I had a nice 92 that I had picked up almost brand new.  To be honest… as much as I liked it… I wasn’t that good with it.  Well, I’m a much better handgunner now, so I’m not bothered with going from crisp single action like triggers to this DA/SA style.

Another challenge was thrown and accepted.  Next month, it’s SIG.
