Man, I love the Sterling

Tonight I did a Detailed Strip and Clean of my Crusader Sterling.  The more I “get to know” the Sterling, the more I respect it.  Any gun that makes a Mosin Nagant look complicated… I like it.

I have some ideas to help tweak the next batch of Sterlings… as soon as we’re ready to do that with our Upgrade we’re working on.  Still tweaking that.  So later this summer we’ll do another run of those I think.  August maybe.

I’m going to do some Sterling vids on Maintenance and Tactics.

The Slipstream Contest has a Winner!

Huey’s Gunsite had a simple contest. The Winner of this contest gets a Free treatment… Slipstream ST-1.

The winner was “KEV”.  Congratulations, Kev.

The ST-1 Treatment is basically a permanent application of the Nano Lube that makes Slipstream Oil and Grease so good.  We treat your Bolt Carrier Group, Buffer and Spring, and Charging Handle.   The result is that your AR feels dramatically different.  Much much smoother.  It will even sound different.  Quieter.  A lot quieter.   Get the ST-1 treatment for your Production AR and it’s going to feel like a Custom AR.  Actually, it’s going to feel better than any other Customer AR I’ve felt.

Thanks to Huey for putting this up.  Seriously, thank you very much.  This is out of your pocket, all on your own time and you didn’t have to do this.  Thank you.

Crusader Racing: Looking for a Testing Volunteer

Crusader Weaponry is about to form a new branch of the company: Crusader Racing. We want to test out Automotive Slipstream product in the harshest crucible of automotive stress… Racing. We are looking for a Volunteer Test Subjects for Slipstream Racing products.
The Candidate needs to be involved in Racing of some sort… Car, Truck, Motorcycle… basically anything with an internal combustion engine and goes fast while looking cool. (Barstool Racing and Lawnmower Racing… need not apply… or any other racing that starts with “Hold my Beer”.)
We’re looking for a Racing Team Car, Truck, or Bike (4 Stroke, and one that doesn’t use a wet clutch!) that is getting ready to do an engine rebuild in the near future. Which is just about any racing team, isn’t it?
We’d like some Data in return. Pre Slipstream Data. Engine noise, vibration, power. And then same information after treatment with Slipstream. How it performs in a race. And then, when you do your rebuild, how the engine internals look.
We are also looking at doing a Racing Sponsorship down the road… so if this works out, you help us… we’ll help you. I don’t know any racing team that wouldn’t like another Sponsorship.
Post a link to your Racing Team, Site, or even just a picture of your Racing rig… or email it to me as some folks would rather do. We’ll pick one or two and get this set up.

Heavy Metal: LWRC REPR

Watch this:

Okay, now the guy says that he feels that the recoil is harsher than other .308 weapons. Then he also says that gun was designed for recoil management in mind. “Recoiled more than any of them…” That’s a fail. The gun was also very poor in accuracy. The parts are banging against each other… that can’t be consistent. The cocking handle causes jams… “it’s a training issue”? Really? That’s a crap design and don’t make an excuse for it. That gun is just a POS. Seriously, if that was my gun, I’d be pissed and I’d want my money back.
Guys, for twice the price of the Crusader Broadsword, it’s less than half the gun. The Broadsword feels like you are shooting a 5.56mm gun. Because it really is designed with recoil management in mind. And it’s a tack driver, because we wanted it to be accurate. The Broadsword shoots groups that make you look like a Ninja Warlock Sniper. At 100 yards, we were shooting 1 hole groups. If you want a good .308 Battle Rifle… there can be only one: The Crusader Broadsword.

Crusader Sterling upgrades in the works

One of the drawbacks to the Sterling is that it has no way of mounting an optic.  We’re fixing that.  Our friend JesseL from WTA is working on a very simple and elegant solution.  Prototypes are in route to Ogre Ranch for testing.

Should these work out… these will be offered immediately for all those that had ordered one of our Sterlings.  They will also be offered as an option for all future Sterling orders.

We learned a lot doing these 9mm SMG’s the first time around.  The next run will be even better… especially with these mounts.  Yes, there will be another run.  Give us a few weeks and we’ll be looking at making that run.  We’ve a lot of business to take care of first, but its coming.

Some interesting Snake Oil

Now you guys all know that I take Lubrication very seriously and Gundoc and I have studied more on Lubricants than anyone short of a PHD should.   We’ve talked to Chemists and Nano Scientists and have studied oils down the Molecular level, and how they act and react with different materials and uses in different applications.  That’s what we do… that’s why Slipstream is so bloody good.

Well, this sales rep guy comes in and shows us some stuff from a company called Wasp Sports.  It’s called Bore Stinger.  It’s a CLP type oil made from Tree Sap and Root Oils, according to the rep.  He was kind enough to leave us a couple bottles.  Everything I know of tree sap pretty much has nothing to do with Lubrication of small moving metal parts.   According the the Sales Guy they take the tree sap and stuff and shock it for 3 days at 30,000 volts or something to “Change the Molecular Structure.”  Yeah, that’s what happens to Organic Compounds when they encounter heat… Some people call it cooking. Which is why Crusader doesn’t use organics.

Do you know what happens to tree sap when it gets old?  It gets hard and we call it Amber… the only thing Amber is good for is preserving Dino DNA and looking yellow.  These are not things you want in your gun, do you?

The Rep made all kinds of claims… A lot of talk about Conditioning, which I still consider something for you Hair, not your Firearm.  10 Micron Penetration into metal.  So evidently your metal is like dried pinewood and this stuff soaks in.  Yeah, metal doesn’t quite do that, but okay… I’ll listen some more.  Then I heard the biggest claim.  This stuff will give you a 700FPS increase in Velocity in a 7mm Rem Mag if you treat your bore with it.  Really?  700, huh?   Not buying that for a second.  Well, after the sales rep left, I had to hit their web site.  WaspSports.

Their (talking about Native Americans here) secret “recipe” for seasoning weapons was coveted by friends and enemies alike, and the Eastern Natives became known as “Master Metal Seasoners”.

You know, my brother and I have both studied Western History in College… Including Native American Studies.   My bro even has his Degree in it.  We’ve never heard of that before.  Ever.

Well, me being who I am, I had to try it out.  3 guns.  I took down 3 different firearms and tried this stuff out.   You know, it’s decent stuff for wiping down a gun.  Probably because of the Wax Compounds that are most likely what’s in the stuff.   But at an oil… I literally felt no difference in these guns – which were bone dry to start with.  One gun, a Walther PPK/S, even kinda felt “Not as good” as before and had more of that Zipper sound after using Bore Stinger.

For about the same price as Slipstream… you can either get Bore Stinger… or you can get the best Lubricant known to Science that is absolutely proven in hostile field conditions and in very kenetic environments.

Win a Slipstream ST-1 Treatment

I’ve mentioned before that Huey’s Gunsight has a contest.  He’s giving away a treatment… Crusader Weaponry’s ST-1 Treatment.  This is a permanent application of Slipstream that will seriously improve your AR-15, AK, 870, or whatever other gun you want to slick up.

For more information on this, check out the thread about it on WTA.    You still have a little time left.  So enter!

Guys, I liked my M4 before… a lot.  Then I got the ST-1 treatment.  I love it now.  I really do.  It’s like the weapon is filled with double cream and blessings from Valhalla.
