I’ve spent several hours with an individual who had talked of ordering a rifle from me. We talked ballistics, caliber, BC, trajectory, rate of twist, air pressure, spin drift, shockwaves, bedding, trigger, stocks, brakes, MOA… I educated this guy for a very long time, to the point that other customers were going to other guys at the counter and making other sales.
(Updated) Armchair Quarterbacking: KIMBER
I’ve developed a love/hate thing on Kimber last couple of years. But lately it’s been more hating than loving. I have my reasons. So I have some serious criticisms for Kimber.
The .50 cal Ricochet to the head video
You guys have all seen the video before… I’m getting a lot of messages about it on facebook and youtube and such for some reason. I guess it gone around the forums again.
Okay, it’s an Armalite AR-50. The ammo was South African Mil-Surp. The range was 100 yards. The target plate was only 1/4″ thick. It should have been like tissue paper to the 750 grain slug at 2800 FPS. Willie, the shooter, is a Former Marine with a lot of experience. The plate was angled back and to the side. A ric should have gone up and to the right. It didn’t.
This was a freak accident that could have ended badly. The ric could have opened his head up, or it could have hit one of the guys behind him. It would have been like being hit point blank with a .45ACP, that’s how much energy that slug still had.
The slug struck the arm of his glasses and the ear-pro. It destroyed the electronic ear-pro, bent the arm, and it cracked the top of his jawbone.
The man that said “We’re not doing that anymore” is his father. He almost saw his Son get killed. It was also Willie’s daughter’s birthday. She almost lost her Dad that day. Everyone there was very lucky that Willie only caught a graze.
I first posted that video on MadOgre.com. In a manner of hours it crashed my server – repeatedly – because it went viral instantly. A MadOgre.com reader put it on YouTube. And it went viral all over again.
It’s been on TV a few times on different shows… and Willie has made some money on it. Willie remains a good friend to this day.
Bin Laden’s family may sue…
The Son of Osama Bin Laden is saying that they may sue the US Government because of the way the US Navy treatment of Osama.
Uh huh…
Does he know who Bin Laden was? The whole 9-11-01 thing? The whole 3,000 innocent lives lost because of Bin Laden?
Call Seal Team Six again, they have some more work to do.
The wave of destruction continues
Not content to destroy only the Auto-Industry, Oil Industry, Housing, Construction, Banking… The Feds are now after Fishermen. (Again)
A new Federal Regulation called “Catch-Share” is ruining lives, families, and causing suicides.
If the goal of the Government is to ruin everything they touch – they are batting a thousand. I swear, it’s like the Feds are the King Midas of Crap. Everything they touch turns to…
Editing
So I’m working on editing my book getting it ready for publication. I’ve come to the conclusion that editing on the screen of a Netbook is far more grinding than editing normally is. This makes it slow. As soon as this editing is done, I’ll be working on the cover. I’m going to do a photo type cover. Staging, costume, make up… and asking the Utah National Guard for the use of some Military Assets.
As soon as I can finish the editing. I hate editing. I hate editing on a Netbook at least 3 times as much.

This is the most comprehensive, in depth, and grueling course we’ve put on.
Trade Offer

Browning is sending me an X-Bolt Stalker in .300WSM. Nikon has sent me a Monarch 3-12 BDC. I have the scope, still in the box, and unopened. The rifle will be sent to me, according to Browning, in June. This is a great package for hunting North American Big Game. I’m pretty jaded about rifles, but the new X-Bolts have impressed the hell out of me. I really like the way they feel and balance, and the accuracy has been awesome out of every X-Bolt I’ve seen. However, I don’t need this rifle. What I need is a good laptop for processing video. Oh, I want it… I’d love it… seriously… but I need a good laptop.

A very fine rifle
Here is an old Highwall Browning in .22-250. Amazing in every detail. They don’t make rifles like this anymore. Just look at the wood on this thing! Stunning. The photos do not do it justice.
