Sick and Tired of hearing Democrats are not Anti-Gun

I’m sick and tired of hearing that Democrats are not Anti-Gun.  That’s such bullshit and I can’t tolerate it anymore.   There are individual Democrats that are Gun Owners, yes.  Some even own Glocks and AR-15’s.  That’s fine.  But as a whole, the Democrat Party is blatantly Anti-Gun and Anti-American.  Forget such adjectives as “Liberal” or “Progressive”, the Party as a whole is disgustingly Anti-Freedom.

Just today, here are two headlines.

Missouri Democrats

Wisconsin Democrats

Forget the rule of law, the Constitution… Rational Thought…

  1. Unfortunately, the same can be said of the Republican party if you happen to be gay, for instance, or not Christian. But that’s not really everyone who votes Republican, is it? There are a lot of Libertarians who vote Republican and don’t believe a word of that bigoted c$%p. Well, there are a lot of people who vote Democrat because because they want to, say, get married at some point in their life, or actually get through school and get a job, where they will dutifully pay back their student loans.

It really isn’t a function of the people who vote one way or the other, it’s a function of where the dollars come from that get politicians (who don’t really qualify as “people”, let’s be honest) into office, and from there the Party (leadership, not voters) sets a platform to make those money bags, er.. donors… happy. Let’s face it, if Bloomberg were a Republican, the elephants would be anti-gun suck ups and the jackasses would be all for our rights.

    1. Did George mention anything about how awesome Republicans are? I don’t think so.

His point is that the Democratic Party is anti-gun. Regardless of whether or not individual dems are pro or anti-gun, it is the Democratic Party leadership that has been driving these efforts across the country.

  2. Wisconsin: According to the bill, “whoever intentionally sells, transports, or possesses any bullet that expands or flattens easily in the human body is guilty of a class H felony.” Could it be a completely lame attempt to keep homeland security and their thousands of new, brite and shiney hollow-point rounds out of the state?

  3. Your position is true, and reflects the nature of the “party” system in politics today. Candidates are very dependent on the party to provide them with the infrastructure, and funding to run a successful election campaign. Therefore, they sign up for the party platform regardless of their personal beliefs or the beliefs of their constituents.

Second problem that we have as a culture is that due to prison overcrowding decades ago, we have made enforcement of laws, “judgement calls”. In turn, this (plus other things) have resulted in a lack of accountability / responsibility for many individuals. We have also become a culture of “I don’t like that. Let’s change the rules”. Our lawmakers have a tendency to conveniently ignore the foundations for our law (Constitutions, existing code, etc.) and put in place the laws and policies that twist or act in direct violation to previous laws, setting up a situation where the courts have to solve the problem. Politicians do this because: they are seen to be “doing something”, they may actually get the courts to agree, and it keeps them (individually in the news for a prolonged period).

The solutions are clear (campaign finance reform, simplification of federal and state code, term limits, elimination of lifetime government jobs, etc.). The successful execution of those solutions is the problem. Like most change in our nation today, it will take a generation or more to take hold and really change the culture of our nation.

Democrats Are Anti-Gun? The Democratic Party is anti-gun. Politicians are hypocrites, and as individuals and representatives of their constituents will typically (there are some exceptions) take the party position instead of holding to their personal views, or the views of their districts.

  4. @ gitt1; No, it isn’t. @ken; No, unless you’re only looking at RINOS. I still think Heinlien had the right.of it: ” Labels don’t matter. There are only two kinds of people in the universe, those who want to set up rules and regulations to guide and CONTROL people’s actions, all for their own good, of course; and the surly, irritable crummudgeons who’ll tell you to ‘go to hell!’ in a heartbeat and just want to be left alone. the former is the source of ALL the government-caused misery known to Man. The latter, while prickly, makes a much more comfortable neighbor!”

  5. Only a Damicrat would think they are more inclusive and open minded that the Republicans. Damicrats openly banned anti-abortion party members from their national conventions, and a friend was denied backing by Damicrats because he is a Christian, despite over 35 years as a active party member. Republicans as a whole, there are assholes everywhere, are much more inclusive of minorities, women, and ideas, than the Damicrats. Don’t just listen to the libtards in the media, read what the parties say, and what their local, state and national conventions actually do, and if so inclined get involved. Remember People are flawed from birth, so are any groups that allow humans in them, sometimes I think that Dogs and Horses would be better choices that the asshole lawyers how seem to make up 90% of the candidates no matter the party affiliations.

  6. Well there’s one part of this proposal I can live with. I would happily tell my child’s school that I own guns. In fact I’d like to inform you that I’m carrying one every time I enter the building.

  7. From the Democratic Party platform:

Firearms. We recognize that the individual right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition, and we
will preserve Americans’ Second Amendment right to own and use firearms. We believe that the right to own firearms
is subject to reasonable regulation. We understand the terrible consequences of gun violence; it serves as a reminder
that life is fragile, and our time here is limited and precious. We believe in an honest, open national conversation
about firearms. We can focus on effective enforcement of existing laws, especially strengthening our background
check system, and we can work together to enact commonsense improvements – like reinstating the assault
weapons ban and closing the gun show loophole – so that guns do not fall into the hands of those irresponsible, law-
    breaking few.

Sure, you get the occasional party member who actively disagrees with that, but only one major party has actually accepted gun control as part of its official platform.
