Pimping Crusader.

Some jackass tried to post “Why don’t you stop pimping Slipstream and Crusader?”

Really?  I’m part owner of Crusader.  I have a vested interest in Crusader… and Slipstream.  The reason I am involved is because I really believe in what we are doing and what we are making.  Crusader puts out staggeringly good weapons that outperform rifles costing twice as much (or more) and our lubrication product “Slipstream” is so good in automatic weapons that active members of the military have described it as a “Force Multiplier”.

When Crusader stops putting out the very best we can… then I’ll stop pimping Crusader and Slipstream.

How about this… Instead of being a dickhead – why don’t you try it? I double dog dare you.  You might find that I’m actually right.  If you come to one of my training courses – Defensive Pistol coming up May 26th – you will need it!

  1. Ogre, I will never understand the attitude of being upset when a business owner (or even employee) is enthusiastic about a business. Maybe it is jealousy that they can not find something the love doing/selling as much as you do?

BTW, I love my Slipstream in my firearms.

  2. I have no involvement with Crusader or Slipstream.
However, I pimp it out to anyone I can.
It is an outstanding product, I see it as a service to anyone who has a need for a weapons lube.

    Jim

  3. I just got my slipstream yesterday. Looking forward to breaking everything down and trying it out. I ordered it because first I read your books, then I read your blog. Aside from serious doubts you could fire up T-34 that easily after sitting so long I thought damn this guy knows guns.

So thanks for being a pimp.

Had to rib you for something 🙂

    1. In Uprising Russia, being able to just start up a vehicle is not something that happens. This causes some problems for a character… who…

      Dies very badly.

      1. Oh damn, I only read the first two. Now the Uprising Russia just made the top of my cue.

I curse you and your pimpness.

  4. Yeah, George, why don’t you stop acting in your own self-interest? It’s very inconsiderate of you.

I like Slipstream fine, and am nothing but a satisfied customer. Illegitimi non carborundum.

  5. Thank you, my brothers. I knew you guys would understand. What I don’t understand, and what I don’t want to understand, is how someone who considers them to be a real Shooter, avoid and poo-poo something they have not tried and so many others have and have found it to be good and worthy and live up to the hype.

I’ll admit, Slipstream failed to impress one guy who tried a very early formulation using two carrier oils that worked great individually but failed when combined. That test batch was tossed out instantly and we found other oils that work perfectly as the carrier for the nano-particles that is the actual lubricant.

  6. Why would you not promote the hell out of a product you produce and sell!? It would be retarded to keep mum about something you feel so passionately about. It would also be disasterous to your bottom line.

Some people just need a solid whack upside the head with the clue bat.

The internet allows you to reach out to customers and potential customers directly, in ways that you would never be able to do before the ‘net existed. Can you imagine Crusader, a relatively new company without the advertising budget of the big boys, trying to get news of their products out in the old fashioned gun rags? The ad budget alone would break them. But now, thanks to George’s writings and forum postings and Youtube vids, Crusader can get its brand into the collective conscious of gun owners without the extreme cost of advertising through the traditional, and frankly lackluster, old media methods.

Some people don’t understand a damned thing about how a business works. It’s too bad, but there are always the whiners, the malcontents, and the insipid trolls out there waiting to make your life miserable for the unforgivable crime of trying to make a buck. Of course, the biggest whiners are the very people who wouldn’t buy from you anyway, so forget ’em. They don’t matter at all. They’re nothing more than background noise.

Guerrilla marketing is a valuable tool to a small company. I never would have heard of Crusader without Mad Ogre and Wethearmed. Now I’m saving up for one of their fine rifles thanks to two things- because I know the caliber of the men who run Crusader, and because of the way they stand by their product. Sounds like Crusader has a solid business plan to me.

Keep on pimpin, Ogre. Haters are always gonna hate. Erase their ignorant comments and keep moving.

  7. Hey George, I will admit to being a fan of yours. I say that as a disclaimer to the rest of this… BUT, I have also been following your blog since you were working at a certain computer shop. I trust in your judgement on products because over the past, too many years, I have seen you tell it like it is.

You will tell the truth about a firearm, or computer tech regardless of who or how it came to you. Send that dim bulb a link to your review of Charter Firearms to see that. (By the way it would be interesting to have you review one of the new batch’s of Charters revolvers. I wonder if they have come as far as they claim).

Besides, you were in Law Enforcement, like several of your “fans” currently are. You know your not doing your job right unless some window licker complains. Your doing right, keep to the way you guys are running and advertising Crusader and Slipstream. Those of us that use and trust the brand are better off then the idiots out there that don’t.

  8. Pimp away dude, anybody who wants to get his panties in a twist about it is too stupid to bother with anyway. Cast your pearls before those worth your effort and ignore the few swine who wonder out of their pen.

  9. Hell…if you won’t promote your own products who will.

If it’s garbage word will get around soon enough, if it’s
good shit, that too will make it’s way around the grapevine.

  10. Hmmmm. The way I look at it, it’s your blog, your company, you’re a known gun enthusiast. What I would be curious about is why aren’t you pimping your own product?

  11. Ogre, I had a customer in the shop the other day, and I was pitching Slipstream to him. I was explaining the ins and outs, but when I mentioned “nano particles” he freaked. Started using sciency-sounding half-knowledge about using protective gear while applying it and making sure it never touches your skin because the nano particles will get in your blood. I didn’t try to get involved scientifically other than to say I’ve used it with bare fingers and haven’t noticed any problems. What should I tell customers like that?

    1. Tell guys like that… That its completely nontoxic and chemically inert. You could drink it with no harm, but that elude be a huge waste.

  12. Shit. I pimp slipstream to everyone I know. The stuff works very well. No one I’ve shown it too has failed to be impressed by the difference.

    I don’t laud what I haven’t tried.

  13. If you did not obviously have such confidence and pure enthusiasm for your company and products, I doubt I would have ever tried it.

And I’d be missing out, cause you really do make some killer lube.

If people who make truly mediocre products in the firearm industry can pimp their stuff to absurd degrees, why get annoyed at a guy pushing an excellent one?

  14. I own a Crusader Rifle. It is by far the tightest shooting rifle in my safe. 3″ at 500 yds, 8″ at 1,000 Yds. It is a rifle deeply coveted by my shooting buddies.

    Keep on pimping, Ogre.

  15. Pimping isn’t pimping when you’re spreading the good news. I use Slipstream and like it.

    1. I have to +1 on this. I’ve treated all my firearms, so far the only one I can tell a real diff is my Mossy 500. It was sticky as hell with the usual suspects, but now it is like butter. The rest were pretty smooth already. Can’t wait to put a few downrange from my new M1A and then give it the ‘Stream treatment. I’m convinced it will be like greased owl snot from here on out.

      Fan.

  16. The only dealing I’ve had with Crusader is Slipstream, so far.
I pimp it out like I make money off it (I don’t, BTW) and half of what goes out of my stash goes on other peoples guns for them to try.

    But…

It’s YOUR blog, Ogre. IMHO, anyone telling you what YOUR content should be on YOUR blog may have some reality issues.

    And he hasn’t tried SS.

    Tard.

  17. If you were”pimping” your new motorcycle would have wide white sidewalls, a leopard skin seat, but riding in platform shoes ,bell bottoms and a pimp hat would not be easy. Continued success

  18. I’m glad you do “pimp” those products, they’re good and need to be advertised. I like quality small businesses like Crusader Arms.

  19. I have been reading your blog for years and I actually do see where these posters are coming from.

You do pimp crusader and slipstream a lot and it’s kinda repetitive.

Crusader is great, slipstream is slick, all this pimping–makes me sick!

I don’t visit your website here more than once every few weeks or so because I have to sift through all these boring crusader and slipstream posts to get what I really enjoy–your firearm reviews, political thoughts, and other 2a related chatter.

I haven’t tried slipstream yet…maybe if I try it I will understand why you pimp it so much:). I have a SIG 220 new model that I carry for work daily that I would love to smooth up. I will give slipstream a chance. Take care.
