I took some sandpaper to my Glock 23 RTF2. It’s not that the texture was rough on my hands… On the contrary, I liked the texture. Unfortunately my clothes didn’t like it. Underarmor brand shirts would snag badly. Work shirts. Sweatshirts too. And if I didn’t wear a t shirt under it, it would savage my side. So I sanded the flats. The front and back straps remain RTF2 textured. Gripping the gun is pretty much unchanged. The pistol locks into the hand rock solid, as usual. I may try some stippling some time, but I’m in no rush.
It has to be better than the original RTF. My dept issues RTF Glocks and they are terrible on clothes. They also have the stipling on the upper portion of the grip. When you texture that little ridge at the top of the thumb indention, it really eats your hands up.
The RTF2 is covered is tiny fine little spikes. Many say that its too rough. For a duty weapon carried open, I think it would be just fine. Especially if I was patrolling humid or coastal areas. The texture wasn’t too much during a 500 round course of fire… But the gun was locked in my hand like it was part of it. A good balance. Just not for CCW with light fabrics.
Can we see how it looks now?
It’s not pretty.
Blaspheme, how dare you ruin a Glock just to save you clothing. Why not just put some duct tape on the shirt to keep it from snagging on Pistol. In case it’s not obvious I’m just kidding.
I’m going to stipple the grip frame. Why? Because I can. Been thinking about it, so I’m just going to freaking do it.
