Competition

I’ve been asked if I was going to get back into competition shooting. I tell you what, I would really love to. I get invitations to matches all the time… and it pains me that I can’t go do them. What’s holding me back? Straight up – I can’t afford the ammo. If I had an Ammo Sponsor, I’d be all over it.

  1. If we could find an ammo sponsor we would put together Team Crusader. It’s a little dream of mine.

  2. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting involved with a small b-weekly competitive thing one of the local ranges does here. I’m an OK shot but I’ve never done anything except shoot on the pistol range in static conditions and blow up stuff out by the creek. It really sounds like fun and I think I could learn a lot. I don’t want to embarass myself but it might be fun to see how I stack up against some of the other local guys. This shoot is a dynamic thing, run around and shoot from cover, reload, move and shoot some more. I know nothing about this but it does sound kinda cool.

I have an XD-40, a Hi-Power and a 1911. I would probably go with the 1911 and bulk .45 ball ammo, but I need a holster and some magazine carriers for my belt. I don’t know where to begin. What might be a good place to start looking for a holster and something to stick my spare mags in? Hey, I’m a total noob to something like this so any advice you guys have would probably be a good start for somebody looking to start doing this for kicks.
