Great Britian just went Full Retard.

Evidently the British have gone so Full Retard that Fire Extinguishers are a Fire Hazard.   I can’t make this up, and I can’t even begin to understand this.

Seriously, UK… What the heck? Do you want your Subjects to be so completely and utterly helpless that they can’t do anything for themselves? You want them to be like rabbits in a hutch, nibbling in their feed bins and staying completely safe under the gracious care of The Government.

  1. Yup, that’s exactly how they want them.

This morning, a feeder fell off one of our rabbit cages, and the rabbit got out. When my wife went out to feed them, it ran right to her, then back to the cage, and scratched at the hole where the feeder was. It wasn’t happy until it was back in its cage.

And, in a week or two, that same rabbit will be dinner. It had a chance at freedom, and chose the illusion of security, for all the good it will do it…

  2. Yep, the Brits go from Churchill to this inanity. The USA is right behind, and on it’s way. Obama and his wife, will have there in a heart beat. It’s coming. We are on the way.

  3. Right you are, Glenda. You heard today’s news about hand-packed lunches being banned in a school in Obamaland, (Chicago)? To protect the kids from their parents, of course. The UK might be in worse shape, but the US is definitely catching up. Thanks to government, we’ve got some seriously stupid people in charge of way too much of our lives. Note that these are the same people who think “gun control” is a good idea.

  4. ‘Obviously, in some cases, an extinguisher could come in useful but, with new building regulations, every escape route should be completely fireproof.’

This from the same people that gave us the “unsinkable” ocean liner? SHOULD?? SHOULD be completely fireproof? If you’re taking the possible only means of survival out, the entire building better be made of asbestos!

Full on ‘tards. All ahead full and damn the icebergs. *sigh*

  5. I’d like my country back now, please.

    St Albans, UK

PS: Off to South Africa in June, to go hunting. Now there’s a country that still recognises the need for independence and self-empowerment.

  6. “The life-saving devices encourage untrained people to fight a fire rather than leave the building, risk assessors in Bournemouth decided.”
Are they assuming that the building is occupied entirely by kindergarteners? Is it illegal for people in Britain to start a campfire? Exactly what training do they think people need to operate a fire extinguisher?

The instructions are on the freaking thing!!

    1. Pull the pin
    2. Aim at burning thing
    3. Squeeze the handle
    4. Sweep from side to side to cover burning and put out the fire.

PASS. I remember that from working in a hospital eleven years ago. It ain’t rocket science.

If the fire is bigger than can be handled with an extinguisher, it will likely be too hot to get close to, then the nerves in the skin of the would-be fire fighter would let them know that it’s not safe. Or if you run out of extinguisher before you run out of fire, that’s a pretty good sign that you are in over your head and it’s time to leave.

Apparently Dorset would rather have its buildings burn down, than allow its residents to quickly and calmly put a stop to a small fire before it amounts to anything.

It really makes you wonder what the real agenda is here?

  7. Here are some other links from that story.

Yep, two men shot to death, and a talented young rapper stabbed to death by gangsters. So that gun ban is really working for them isn’t it? If there are no guns, nobody gets shot right? Right?

Also the second story shows that not only does disarmament not prevent violent people from causing violence, it also doesn’t prevent heroic people from being heroic. The deceased was apparently acting to protect his brother. There were four bad guys with knives, and one good guy, unarmed, who stepped in anyway and protected his younger brother. Obviously a 16 year old is too young to legally carry a gun in the U.S., but there are people in this world who will act, at the risk of their own lives, to protect others from danger. Even if they have no tools other than their hands. Why not let more good people carry a tool that will be effective at stopping danger, and protecting the victims?

    1. 16-year-olds can legally carry guns in some states. There’s no minimum age, here in NH, as long as there is parental consent. I /know/ of a 12-year-old with a CCW, and my lawyer tells me that’s not the youngest that’s ever been issued.

        1. Yup. The fact that my kids can carry, if I decide they are responsible enough, is one of the reasons I live here. Especially the middle one – she’s likely to stop traffic, and she’s tiny, so efficient means of self-defense are likely to be important once she hits the teen years…

  8. Wow…just,…wow. Don’t the Brit’s realize that kitchen fires are the number 1 cause of house/apartment fires? I guess defibulators will be banned because it could kill a bystander who just might be touching the victim’s body. Talk about a “Nanny State” and I wonder how long it will before the UK is in diapers. Is no one standing up to this nonsense???

    1. Are you KIDDING?! Do you know how DANGEROUS diapers are?!

Wants to hand out diapers to everyone… must be one of them terrorists…

  9. I’m waiting until they wrap Britain up in bubble wrap and pad everything with Nerf.

Then I’ll visit and take over the country with a butter knife as my new subjects quake in fear.

  10. You are correct.

Our brothers across the pond have gone full on retard.
We are talkin bike helmet wearin, drool cup fillin,
security blanket clutchin, short bus ridin RETARD.

THis makes no sense… Fire bad, so, you take away the fire extinguishers…
That you use to put the fires out…

I can’t even begin to understand from what depths of total fraidycat, pacifistic, peace mongering, sheeple thought this came from.

  11. I’m surprised it took this long. My sophomore year in college, Tn Tech removed all the dorm extinguishers and firehoses for the same reason.
