Hate and Loathing in D.C.

Congress showed their hand prematurely.

GRIT YOUR TEETH AND READ THIS.

The Obama Administration asks you to sacrifice everything.  Your health, your lives, and the well being of your families.  They ask you to train yourselves to stomp on those that simply ask that the Government follow the Constitution.  They label your fellow Veterans as National Threats, potential Terrorists, or Dangers to society.  You are only useful to them while you are in Uniform and On Duty.  And as soon as you take off your Uniform, you become one of Them… those very people you were told to keep an eye on, to watch out for, to be ready to fight “just in case”.    They don’t care about you.  You are just a guard dog, to be chained up in the back yard when not needed.   They consider you only to be political pawns at best.   They are in fact disgusted by your very existence.  This Administration has shown that it does not care… They cut your benefits, they cut your health care… Hell, they were even closing your Post Exchanges when and were they could.  Where your families buy their groceries.  4th of July Fireworks?  They cancelled them.

These people think you are stupid. I forget who it was, Vice President Al Core or then Senator John Kerry that pointed to the Marines and threatened his children that if they don’t do well in school they will end up like those Marines. WTF kind of respect is that? That’s not respect. That’s loathing. You Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers, are beneath them. They hate you. And they want you to hate Civilians that love the Constitution. The very document that you swore your Oaths to Protect and Defend.

How long must this be endured?

  1. It was Al Gore to his son. He pointed at a Secret Service (not sure if it was an agent or uniformed officer) and said that crap

  2. It sadly isn’t just the military. We are all just minions thats only purpose is to serve the ruleing elite. It isn’t just the democrats abusing the masses. 98 percent of the republicans are guily as well. It is a sad state of affairs.

    FB Friends,

I’m still mulling this Paul Ryan budget deal that stole money from every military retiree (past, present and future). This morning, upon opening my email, I noticed I had a letter from Congressman Paul Ryan…and it was begging me for an “emergency end of the year donation.” It only proves what we already know. The folks in Washington are indeed clueless. Instead of hitting the delete button, I decided to call Congressman Ryan out on his audacity and lack of self-awareness. I sent the following to him. I’m also posting it on the FB USAF Chiefs page as an open letter to the Congressman. If you’re a retiree, I will tell you we may have lost the battle, but not the war. If you’re inclined and find it worthy, let’s flood social media with this letter and see if we can get some traction. Thanks.

    To Congressman Paul Ryan

    Congressman Ryan,

Please note that this request by you for a cash donation from me is extremely unfortunate and very ill-timed. You see sir, I am one of the military retirees your “bipartisan” budget just impacted. You and every Republican (both in the House and Senate that voted to pass this travesty betrayed and broke trust with me and everyone like me. You may not know us by name, but we’re the people, Congressman, who answered our Nation’s call, some of us at a very early age to willingly serve YOU and others LIKE YOU so you could safely attend college and pursue your personal ambitions without fear of harm.

You might also want to note that for at least 20 years, my brothers-in-arms answered that call of duty EVERY SINGLE DAY, without fail, without complaint, without enough money to sustain our loved ones we had to leave behind while we DID OUR JOB in every corner of the Earth. And for that service, we were given absolute assurance our so-called retirement benefits would be protected by law. The very law you shattered in your zeal to impress your Democratic cohorts in your back room deal–with the enemy. Yes, I said it. The liberal Democrats are an enemy to the American people and our Nation. Your lack of judgement and eagerness to compromise on the backs of us who protected you is sickening. Congressman, you and every Republican that voted for injuring military retirees have engaged in a complicit, sordid affair with the Democrats who’s objective has always been to dismantle the military. By climbing into their bed on this issue, you have confirmed you are absolutely no better than they and have proven it with your vote.

Congressman Ryan, the audacity which you display is noteworthy, but to unceremoniously snatch earned money from a small group that has added so much more value than the paltry $6B you looked to “save” (which is all smoke and mirrors and you know it), is reprehensible and insulting.

We have, despite the hardships, meager salaries and harsh conditions, have performed with honor and excellence…in silence, which is something most members of Congress have no idea about doing. Our job approval was, is and always be better than yours. We knew our mission and we got it done, then handed it off to a new generation in better shape than we found it.

Your ability to look us in the eye, take money from us (apparently there was ZERO, other source of waste within the federal government that you could have recovered this money from…right, got it), while simultaneously holding your hand out to beg (with passion) for our cash is stunning. Your actions have proven you do not have the tremendous intellect you’ve sold the American people on. I say, with all seriousness, Congressman, what you lack in intellect and spinal rigidity, you make up for in cajones.

I hope you and your cowardly, Republican “colleagues” hear a message from me loud and clear. You will NEVER receive another cent of financial support from me. Further, if you happen to be at a Capitol Hill dinner or at a K Street cocktail party with RNC Chair Reince Priebus, Rep. Ron Barber, Sen. Jeff Flake or Sen. John McCain, I would be honored if you communicate with them that I am launching an effort to ensure NONE of you traitorous “representatives of the people” ever receive another vote from a military retiree. Remove me from your contact lists.

    Chuck Wooten,

    Chief Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret)

  4. “How long must this be endured?”

Forever. You won’t do anything about it. Neither will all those guys who left comments on that blog.
Plenty of bitching on the internets, but i guaran-damn-tee when election time rolls around you’ll vote for the red team or the blue team like everyone else. So will they. And nothing will change.

      1. I remember it just fine. But please, fix the deficiencies in my memory. Explain why this will be different than obamacare, tarp, the patriot act, the new deal, the league of nations, the creation of the federal reserve, or the alien and sedition act. (Just to name a few)

Our government has been pushing us toward a more authoritarian and “progressive” state almost since its inception. Do educate me as to when in our history the American people stood up on their hind legs and called bullshit on our government. Because i can recall only twice: once in 1776, and again in 1861, and look how well that second one turned out.

    1. If i recall correctly, the whiskey rebellion broke up when they heard that Washington had raised a militia to disperse them.

I’ll grant that they did in fact protest what they saw as illegal taxation by the government, but they also backed down when that government threatened them with the use of force.

I don’t recall anything about the Utah expedition you mention below; i’ll have to do some research.

    1. Ah, the mormon rebellion. Don’t think i’ve ever heard it referred to as the Utah expedition before. I’ll give you this one, however i’d like to point out that while the mormons did at first meet the federal government force for force, they eventually knuckled under, bowing to federal rule in exchange for a pardon, and even going so far as to remove their church leader from power.

      1. I’ll further point out that this was yet another example of a corrupt federal government attempting to assert its primacy over a state to which it was, constitutionally speaking, subordinate.

  5. A Republican controlled congress passes a budget that eschews the veterans in favor of pork barrel spending–much of which the Pentagon has clamored it didn’t need–and Obama is the bad guy? Does somebody need a lesson in Civics here? Did somebody forget that one of the first things Obama did was push for–and get by the way–an increase in the VA budget to the tune of tripling it? Obama isn’t the one who hates the troops here, he stumped on taking care of our troops and doing better by them in the 2008 election, most of the promises he made in regards to the military were kept. You can thank Boehner for this crap, he’s the one who flung it at you.
