  1. Auto/aircraft hybrids do neither well.

Until flying is idiot proofed to the point where an inattentive driver can get from A to B without getting killed, flying cars as such ain’t happening.

    1. This is more of a Motorcycle than a car… so it’s not so much idiot drivers, but hairy bikers you’d have to worry about.

Yeah, you are correct about doing neither well. I’ve flown an Auto Gyro before, at the EAA Airshow in OshKosh. Very easy and about as idiot proof as you can get. But they are slow and are high drag so they burn a lot of fuel. This unit here is more interesting though. Slimmer chassis with lower drag on the body, scissoring rear prop, and a nice mean look to it. It might be a very good Auto Gyro, as far as Auto Gyros go.

    2. Most of the time, being inattentive in a car will kill you a lot faster than being inattentive in a plane.

      1. People get away with it all their lives. They depend on others to warn them ( and get mad when they do! ).

The ground will not warn you before it kills you.

    3. I can safely read a book whilst flying, would not dare to try that while driving. Driving is on a scale from 1-10 somewhere between 4 and 7 on the required attention. Flying runs the full spectrum from bearley need to be conscious to 100% focus. the trick is preemptively ramping up attention. if the skys were as full as the roads it would be really tough to go anywhere.

    1. Make mine yellow and black, and call it “Little Nellie the 2nd” After all, you only live twice

  2. The one thing I don’t like about it is that it is a three wheeler on the ground with two wheels in the rear and one in the front. This will limit its stability on the ground for high speed sharp turns especially considering its already high center of gravity.
