Immigrant Song

This is the new Title Sequence for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Many have said it’s better than the original flick. I liked the original films… so if the title sequence is this badass… I’m going to have to go see it.

  1. Saw it last night. Also saw the original a few months ago. You will enjoy the American version. It borrowed everything in ought to have from the original and was decidedly sharper and darker (intentionally) when it counted.

  2. The new Fincher version is a slightly more complete adaptation of the book (though not 100% or it would be 4 hours). It is a much better produced film as would be expected. The performances are excellent throughout and the atmosphere is as chilling as the landscape. As the title sequence suggests the music in the film is phenomenal.

That said, it is hard to top Noomi Rapace’s performance in the Swedish version which is truly exceptional. The best compliment I can give Rooney Mara is that she gives a performance on par with the original – which is a testament to the character as much as the actresses involved.

It is definitely worth seeing the new version if you are a fan of the Swedish version.

  3. The new one is truly excellent, not better than the original, but very close and better in several regards especially in terms of dark atmosphere and style, definitely stands on its own. Stays true to the source material without getting lost or bloated, and adapts near perfectly to film and adds some of that big American movie style th at makes it better, Rooney Mara gives a masterful portrayal of lisbeth salander, a really cool character and done as well as Noomi Rapaces’ Performance. The movie kicked ass in Swedish and now its even better in an American adaptation, definitely see it in theaters.

  4. I always wonder what the nightmares are of the graphic artists who put together sequences like that…

    Gaahhh.

  5. GWIDT is standard leftist anti-male boilerplate twaddle wrapped up in Hollywood eye candy and a run of the mill whodunnit, written by a socialist nimrod girly man.

See it if you wish but remember what it really means.

This review by Steve Sailer is a good place to start:

      1. Perhaps so.

As Freud is supposed to have said (but probably didn’t):
