Browning is sending me an X-Bolt Stalker in .300WSM. Nikon has sent me a Monarch 3-12 BDC. I have the scope, still in the box, and unopened. The rifle will be sent to me, according to Browning, in June. This is a great package for hunting North American Big Game. I’m pretty jaded about rifles, but the new X-Bolts have impressed the hell out of me. I really like the way they feel and balance, and the accuracy has been awesome out of every X-Bolt I’ve seen. However, I don’t need this rifle. What I need is a good laptop for processing video. Oh, I want it… I’d love it… seriously… but I need a good laptop.
I’m looking for an HP or Dell laptop with an i7 processor, a full capacity of RAMs, and a honking big hard drive with a 15″ screen… 17″ is too big. And Dedicated Video RAM. I’d also go for a MAC Powerbook with an i5 processor.
Now the value on the rifle package at retail is about 1200 bucks. The value of the laptop (PC) from what I’m seeing is about a thousand. So the trade is a solid in your favor.
So if you have an expense account that you can use to write off a laptop as a business expense… or you have some new laptops laying around… and you need a nice new rifle, then here’s a win win for both of us. Or if you know a guy – pass this along.
Here’s the deal though, I need laptop pretty soon if possible and I’ll ship the rifle as soon as it gets in. You’ll get the package totally new and virgin. I’d rather trade new for new rather than sell and buy. (Because if I sell I’d have money. If I have money, then the wife gets it!)
I can face to face trade, no problem… and I’d even drive some distance to do it. If I ship, it has to ship to an FFL Dealer and I’ll need a signed copy of his FFL to file.
I’ve got a IBM think pad a couple of years old, very low hours, I’ll send it out to you, see if you like it.
Not what I’m needing. That and I hate the Chinese made Thinkpads. But thanks anyways.
Hate to tell ya but I’m pretty sure most of Dell’s notebooks are made in China too. The desktops are Brazilian and the servers are Malaysian, but as I recall their plant in Xiamen does all the smaller stuff.
That’s not something I wanted to wake up to!

hay Georg if you are looking for a laptop that will peaty much handle any multimedia job you give it I would look into an Alienware they have the best cooling system for laptops. They are a bit on the expensive side but compared to a MAC they are still cheaper and in my opinion better built.
Yeah, I like Alienware stuff… but your right about the price. They used to be basically custom machines but are now pretty much high end Dells.
You have a point there but the one that I bought appears to be different from the regular Dells. For example if I really wanted to I could upgrade the CPU jest by removing some screws and be able to put it back together and have it look the same i could email you some pictures of my machine to show you what I am talking about.
