Data Tapping

There is a lot of fuss over the government eavesdropping on calls and emails. As if this was all something new.
We knew about this 15 years ago.  Wired Magazine covered this when the program was called “Carnivor”.  And even then it was old hat.
If you are just now getting worried about this… you’re late to the game.

  1. Correct Og but this (NSA spying) is just one very small piece of a very large ice burg that is now floating to the surface with all (or a lot) of its parts all at the same time. Keep in mind that what we know is by definition only a small percentage of the whole. O plans to rule LONG after the next election farce. “Buckle up, its going to be a bumpy ride.”

Oh and good afternoon to the NSA.

  2. I agree that loud popping sound is the rest of the population collectively pulling their heads out of their a….um.. well probably not all the population. I’m sure there are some living off the rest of the public that could care less as long as that check keeps showing up and the free cell phone keeps logging onto Facebook.

  3. Tom Clancy years ago wrote about the government’s (NSA) ability to eaves drop on cell phone conversations, using a satellite in orbit. The government combed already saved cell phone data in the Boston Marathon investigation, from the area of the explosion. I’ve suspicion that the government’s reassurances is a hand holding attempt to calm and make the issue go away. With the administration’s several notorious scandals, Machiavellian maneuvering and glory seeking, how can a rational and logical person not consider, even believe, that abuses of American’s legal rights havn’t quietly occurred? Perhaps done in the name of national security or misguided pride.

  4. I agree, if you are just now worried about it you are late to the game.

That being said, what is now coming to issue are the following questions:

“When did We the People give you the legal power to conduct surveillance on the People?”

“What constitutional authority do you presume to have to conduct surveillance on the People?”

“What makes you think that you can legally conduct such surveillance on the People without a proper review system that the People approve of to prevent abuses?”

“What makes you think that “Trust Us” is reassuring enough to the People?”

Ok, so the last one was a tad rhetorical.
And as always, I will not follow up all my communication with the following disclaimer:

*This message is neither private nor confidential and is subject to review by the NSA, or any other government organization with acronyms for a name*

Because he is O the Lightbringer, that you had to ask such things means
    A. You are one of the little people
    B. You are now on the list.
When he assumes his proper throne you can expect a knock on the door at midnight.

  6. Heck this came up during Bush’s run as president, around 06-08 I believe.

We’ve known since then, and yet we have short memories.
