This
is China's version of the American Blackhawk helicopter.  It's an almost
line for line copy.  It would not surprise me in the slightest if this
design was one of the items sold to China by President Bill Clinton.
When more information about this bird is located, I'll put it up here.
This is an interesting helicopter. Notice the sensor pod just above the cockpit.
This contains a system similar to what is in our Longbow Apache attack helicopters. This makes China's latest helicopter very capable and deadly.
The airframe is identical to a
Eurocopter
Dauphin 2.  This aircraft probably has identical or better performance
than the original.

As
you can see here, they have a lot of them. Total numbers are unknown.  It
is easy to see that they obviously have the ability to manufacture these units.
The Dauphin is a very good helicopter that sees service within the US with many
agencies including the US Coast Guard, many State Police agencies, and many more
Air Rescue and Life Flight operations.  It's popular for good reasons, ease
of handling, speed, and capacity.  In a military configuration, this
aircraft is a serious threat.  Not only can it be used as a gun platform,
but as a transport as well.
