I am George Hill, and I want to be your Representative for Utah's District 55.
I believe in a strong Utah, an
independent Utah, and a free Utah. Utah First. As your Representative, I will apply common-sense solutions to turning back the encroachment of federal government, lowering taxes, reducing spending,
bringing new businesses into the Uintah Basin, restoring our fiscal health,
and respecting private property. I stand for family values and equal rights for all.
I believe Utah knows how to manage Utah better than people three
thousand miles away who refer to Utah as "flyover country". I
believe we can manage our mineral resources. I believe we can
manage our wildlife. I believe we can manage our mountains and
forests and the trails that run through them. This is our home.

I pledge to save Utah's children from
the failing educational system. We need to break apart the alliance of elected
officials and the teachers unions, which at best has institutionalized
mediocrity and has failed children across our state and the country. We need
choice in education and allow parents to decide the educational future of their
children. I will fight for tax credits and choice of school for parents and
their children. I will fight to regain our share of the mineral revenues that
are pumped out of the Uintah Basin so those monies can be pumped back into the
Uintah Basin. Hunting regulations need to make sense and they need to focus on
what the regulations are intended for... to manage our wildlife to improve our
herds instead of focusing on tapping the hunting tradition as a revenue source.
I am a very Pro-Gun Candidate. I support Open Carry. I support "Constitutional
Carry", like in Vermont, Alaska and Arizona. I also want to remove the legal
rules requiring open carried pistols to be unloaded. This law, like many others
that need to be addressed, makes no sense. If you want to carry a gun, and you
are not a prohibited person, you should be able to do so without question. I'd
also like to see a Tax Free day for Guns and Ammunition sales one day a year.
April 15th is a good day for that. One day a year, all sales of
Firearms and Ammunition would be tax exempt. I'd like to see that Utah's
Governmental agencies spend their budgets locally, supporting local businesses
first and foremost, keeping that money in Utah's economy and not transferring it
elsewhere. The Federal Government owns over half of our State. I believe this is
wrong. I believe Utah should belong to Utah... every square inch. The word
“National” should not be applied to our forests, parks and Monuments. They were
in Utah long before Washington DC decided to claim them. Tourist revenue from
those areas need not be sent back to DC, but should stay in Utah to improve our
State. I believe in a strong Utah, an independent Utah, and a free Utah. Utah
First.
